Description
DESCRIPTION:  Marian Community Hospital is a not-for-profit,
general, acute care, 112-bed health-care facility.  It is an
advocate of the values of Catholic health care and its purpose is
to enhance the quality and dignity of personhood through a
holistic approach to the needs of each individual.  The hospital
is committed to meeting the needs of residents of the Northern
Lackawanna Valley region.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  MCH has numerous volunteer opportunities
for college students in clinical and non-clinical departments as well
as through two well-developed outreach programs.  Typically volunteer
service is rendered in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Radiology,
Laboratory, Business Departmet, and the Gift Shop. Additional
volunteer positions can be developed to meet the needs of the
interested volunteer.

TIME COMMITMENT:  A minimum of 2 hours per week.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING:  A 4 hour training and Departmental Orientation
is required for all new hospital volunteers.  Completion of a 6
week educational course is required of all outreach volunteers.
