DESCRIPTION: The American Red Cross is a non-profit, social service agency. It's mission is to improve the quality of human life, to enhance self-reliance and concern for others, and to help people avoid, prepare for, and cope with emergencies. It does this through services that are governed and directed by volunteers and are consistent with its congressional charter and the principals of the International Red Cross. Non Paid internship opportunities available in the Development Department and the Community Affairs Department/Public Relations and other departments. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Various opportunities exist depending on the area of interest expressed by the volunteer. Services include: Blood Services, Health and Safety Services, and Emergency Social Services and Community services. TIME COMMITMENT: This would vary, depending on the department. Hours are flexible.
