Description
DESCRIPTION:  Abington Manor is a long/short term provider of
skilled nursing care.  It is a 120 bed facility.  We offer
rehabilitative nursing, physical, occupational, speech,
recreational, and other therapies.  The entire Genesis Healthcare
approach is shaped by one guiding principle:  everything we do is
devoted to helping the elderly achieve a full life.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  Friendly visitor, assist or conduct
individual or group activities (i.e. crafts, cooking,
horticulture, pet therapy, etc.), entertainment, transporting
residents, beauty shop assistant, decorating, assisting with
field trips, computer rehabilitation program, reading to
residents, special events, intergenerational programs, pass mail
and more!  

DONATIONS: Always looking for donations for residents.  Sensory 
boxes: students can make boxes for residents, for example: a makeup
box for ladies or a craft to do with all of the necessary pieces in
it.

TIME COMMITMENT:  Varies according to job description.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING/AGENCY ORIENTATION:  Mandatory orientation
program.

Clearances are required, along with PPD and TB screening.  Flu shots also necessary for volunteers/staff
