Description
DESCRIPTION: Regional museum dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the history, heritage and culture of Pennsylvania's hard coal region. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Tour guide, museum shop, cataloging artifacts, front desk (answer phone etc.), various programs through out the year, education, library and gardening. Other project oriented opportunities can be made available based on an individual's interest or area of expertise. FACULTY/STAFF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Tour guide, research, collections work, and programs. TIME COMMITMENT: Tour guide and Museum shop are seasonal and vary with individual, other areas may be a few hours a week or month all year. VOLUNTEER TRAINING AVAILABLE: Each area includes training and varies from individual instruction under the staff person assigned to group sessions for tour guides that are held during the year.
