Description
DESCRIPTION:  The U of S Campus Women's Center provides a setting
in which women and men may experience learning that leads to
personal growth and development, especially as regards to gender
issues.  It promotes gender equality and justice.  The center
offers presentations and workshops and provides resources
(pamphlets, books, videos and an internet station makes space
available for conversation and study).

The center itself does not provide crisis counseling.

STUDENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  Volunteers are needed to staff
the Center and may also assist in program planning and
development, in addition to special events.

FACULTY/STAFF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  Faculty and staff are
needed to plan and present programs, to serve on committees, and
to staff the Center.

TIME COMMITMENT: Approx.  1-2 hours per week

All volunteers will receive an orientation to the Center and
their duties.  Several training sessions will be offered
throughout the year to provide further opportunities for growth
and development.
