Lackawanna County Department of Health and Human Services / Office of Youth and Family Services investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect and ensures child safety and family stability while respecting the rights and dignity of the family group. Student Volunteer Opportunities: Internship and shadowing and volunteer experiences offered throughout the agency working with at risk youth and their families. Internship Opportunities: Lackawanna County Department of Health and Human Services / Office of Youth and Family Services actively participates in numerous undergraduate and graduate internship programs through many local universities and colleges. Some examples include Social Work, Counseling, Public Administration, and Accounting.
