Description
St. Cats and Dogs (pronounced street not saint) of Nay Aug Zoo, Scranton, Pennsylvania, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer group, established in 2012 to help control and assist the area street cat population. ~ We are NOT a Shelter ~ Through TNR, adoption of friendlies, and other community projects, we strive to reduce the population and improve the lives of our feline friends. TNR is a non-lethal solution to feral cat overpopulation. Cats are humanely trapped, fixed, vaccinated, and returned to their original homes to live out their lives.Feral cats are also ear-tipped so they are easily identifiable if trapped again, so they may be released immediately.Ear tipping is a universal symbol for TNR cats. Approximately 1/4″ is removed from the cat’s ear at the time of surgery. We rely on committed, dedicated, and diligent volunteers to fulfill our mission of improving the lives of animals in the Scranton area. Only applicants who complete the application and the volunteer forms in their entirety will be considered. Unfortunately, we are not typically able to accept volunteers less than 18 years of age. Please also note that you will only receive a response from us if your preferences and availability meet the current needs of our organization. Volunteer can clean cages, help with laundry and site cleaning. Completed applications and forms should be emailed to stcatsvolunteering@gmail.com. If you do not have an email address, completed applications can be dropped off Wednesdays at the Zoo from 10am-5pm. Email is preferred.
