DESCRIPTION: We are currently looking for students to volunteer with our in-classroom program. As a volunteer, you will go into a classroom in the Scranton area and teach FUN and INTERACTIVE lessons about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship concepts from a pre-developed curriculum appropriate for any grade of choice. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, build your network, as well as build you resume and receive service learning hours! VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNTIES: The time commitment is minimal… once a week, 30 to 45 minutes, for a total of 5 to 8 classroom visits. You will talk to the teacher that you are assigned to coordinate a convenient day and time! We will provide your materials and a brief training! The lessons are very simple and self-explanatory, so no need to worry if you have never taught a lesson plan! TIME COMMITMENT: 30 to 45 minutes, for a total of 5 to 8 classroom visits (and preparation time) VOLUNTEER TRAINING: Volunteers will be trained in materials at a 1 hour sessions at the University.
