Description
DESCRIPTION:  A clearinghouse of mutual-help support groups-and
of Library of Health, Wellness, Drug & Alcohol, Parenting, Self-help, Womens'
Issues and Personal Growth information and
resources. Workshops and newsletters for self-help groups;
consultation by appointment.

Prevention programming for youths.  Specifically BABES, Drug & Alcohol prevention program.  6 lessons for preschoolers.  Our staff are trained to conduct Circle of Life Self Assessment Workshops.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: 1) Clerical - computer database
management - library - filing and cataloging - general clerical
2) Campus Contact - outreach for campus self-help groups.  3) Child
Care Program for Women in Treatment - Wed. 9am-12pm, located at Drug
and Alcohol Treatment Service, 116 N. Washington Ave. Counts as
service learning.

FACULTY/STAFF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  1) Serve as Advisory
Council Member 3 year term meetings quarterly.

TIME COMMITMENT:  Flexible depending on student schedule.

Volunteer training one to one training of volunteer and complete
orientation.

*Within walking distance from the University of Scranton.
