(Currently Spring-Fall/Winter) The Pocono Equestrian Center (a nonprofit organization) has programs near Keystone College for special needs children using 4-legged therapists (yes horses) in a therapeutic riding program. We have Behavioral Specialists that will be working with us this year. No experience necessary but you MUST not be afraid of horses! You may help with side walking with the children, if you have no experience. If you have experience you will have the opportunity to exercise horses. 9-1 1:30-5:30 Or come and stay all day. Are you going to school to be an Occupation Therapist? This is first hand experience for you. (We do need a consulting OT if you know of anyone available) Is your schooling PR? Well let's talk. (EFP)-Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy-work with our Behavioral Specialists. Special Education - You like horses and kids but never thought of putting them together. We have room for you too. (ALL Year Round) Is research fun for you? (Even if you are going home for the summer) We can teach you how to do some grant research and writing and email to us for approval. (We have a sample grant written already we just need some extra help) Fundraising- Do you like to talk to people and meet people? You can help with our fundraising Sports Program- (Riverfront Sports in Scranton) -Special Needs "Little Wrangler" program is an organized socialization program for the special need kids. Thursday evenings 6-7pm Internships- Excellant opportunity to network with professionals in the field and gain hands on experience in special education, counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy and human resources.
