The mission of Dress for Success Lackawanna is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Since 1999, Dress for Success Lackawanna has provided business attire, a much-needed boost of confidence, and job retention and career advancement services to more than 6,000 women throughout six counties in NE Pennsylvania. An independent 501(c)(3) corporation registered in the state of Pennsylvania, Dress for Success Lackawanna is part of a worldwide network of over 150 affiliates in twenty five countries. One woman, one suit, one job can change the world! Women are referred to our organization by partner non-profit programs and government agencies including homeless shelters, immigration services and domestic violence shelters, all offering job ready and job training programs Student Volunteer Opportunities: Suit drives, pick up/delivery/ sorting, fund raising, clerical/office Faculty/Staff Volunteer Opportunities: Same as above plus referral partner recruitment, personal shopper, training volunteers, grant writing Volunteer Training and Orientation: Volunteers work with committee chairs and experienced volunteers in a collaborative, friendly environment.E-Mail Dress for Success Lackawanna
