Description
DESCRIPTION:  Special Olympics provides physical challenges
through sports for the mentally retarded population of the
Scranton School District.  During the course of the School year
we provide opportunities for our students to participate in
bowling, basketball, volleyball, swimming, track and field, and
alpine skiing.

STUDENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  Volunteers are needed for all
sports in many different capacities.  All are also invited to
become active in the many managerial tasks.

FACULTY/STAFF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: To serve on Special
Olympic Committee and participate in planning meetings.

TIME COMMITMENT:  Schedule is flexible dependent on volunteers
schedule.

Volunteer training and orientation is provided.
