DESCRIPTION: When children are in the hospital, their families stay with us. By staying at the Ronald McDonald House or visiting the Ronald McDonald Family Room, families are able to stay near their hospitalized children during very trying times. Our Ronald McDonald House is one of 300+ Ronald McDonald Houses and of the approximately 200 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms worldwide we have 3 right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: The Ronald McDonald House of Scranton relies on volunteers to enhance its services and programs. Your warm and caring presence as a volunteer has a positive impact on the life of families who need to live at the House while their child is in a Scranton area medical facility. Ronald McDonald House volunteers hail from all walks of life, each bringing their gifts and talents to the table. Whether you’re a high school senior, a senior citizen, or anywhere in between, we welcome your ideas and enthusiasm.Volunteer options are many… whether it’s helping with the annual Gourmet Gala, lending a sympathetic ear to our guests, or even planting flowers in the spring, the list goes on.
